Colton is currently creative director at Utah City and recently started a Substack called Materials, Form & Authorship - an exercise in documenting personal projects and an exploration of the self through making objects. He joined the Utah City project in 2024. He is particular about pens. Keeps a journal. Enjoys electronic music. Is loosely working on a personal photography project. Happens to cheer for the two best teams in baseball. Listens to the news in Spanish. And, having lived and worked in Los Angeles, CA and Brooklyn, NY, now lives in Salt Lake City, UT with his wife and their three children.

2024-Present: Creative director at Utah City, a 700-acre mixed-use development currently in its first phase.

Leading a team across brand, design & creative production, with responsibility for establishing and protecting the creative standard across the project.

The work has always moved between disciplines. A packaging brief is usually a larger brand question – A furniture project is a utility and spatial one. Following the problem wherever it goes is the process.
